Gaia Camillieri is a globally recognised leader in AI strategy, data governance, and digital transformation with over 18 years of experience spanning financial services, fintech, and insurtech. Currently serving as Managing Director for Mission Plus in the GCC region, she leads financial institutions and SME clients through high-impact, AI-driven transformation journeys, combining product innovation with responsible scaling practices.
At Mission Plus, Gaia co-developed the “From Experiments to Enterprise” framework, which integrates maturity-based AI adoption models, the Unified Control Framework (UCF) for AI governance, and a modular, use-case-first approach to scaling AI responsibly. Her earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank, and GE Capital, where she led large-scale initiatives across global markets. Her work has been recognized with awards such as the CIO100 Innovation Award.
Gaia is an advocate for ethical AI and inclusive technology leadership and delivers training programs in Data and AI, most recently for Women in Tech UAE and She Loves Data UAE.
